ABOUT THE RACE

  • The Burgh Backyard Ultra is a last runner standing endurance challenge.

    The format is simple. A 6.706 km (4.167 mile) loop starts every hour, on the hour. You must complete the loop within the hour to earn your place on the next lap.

    Finish early and you can use the remaining time to rest, refuel and recover before the next start. But when the bell goes, everyone starts together again.

    The challenge continues until only one runner can complete a lap. Everyone else records a DNF (Did Not Finish), making the final runner the winner.

    It's not about running the fastest. It's about pacing yourself, managing your energy and seeing how far you can go.
