Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to the Momentm Events website and all events organised by Momentm Events.

By using our website or entering a Momentm Event, you agree to the relevant parts of these terms.

Individual event pages, entry information, race packs, mandatory kit requirements and event rules also form part of your agreement with us. Where an event has specific requirements, those event-specific details will also apply.

The version of these Terms & Conditions in place when you enter an event will normally apply to your entry.

1. Website Use

We aim to keep information on our website accurate and up to date, but event information, routes, timings, locations, partners and other details may change.

Information relating to running, training, kit, nutrition or similar subjects is provided for general information and is not medical or professional advice.

You must not misuse our website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or use its content for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

Unless otherwise stated, Momentm Events branding, website copy, graphics, photography and original materials belong to Momentm Events or are used with permission and must not be commercially reproduced without permission.

Third-party websites and services linked from our website operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

2. Event Entry

You must provide accurate information when entering an event and meet the minimum age, eligibility and other requirements published for that event.

If an entry is made on behalf of someone else, that participant must receive and agree to these terms and the event rules before taking part.

Where an event permits participants under 18, appropriate parent or guardian consent and any event-specific supervision or safeguarding requirements will apply.

Your entry is confirmed once payment has been successfully completed and your entry accepted.

Event registration and payment may be provided through third-party platforms whose own terms may also apply.

3. Health and Participation

Running and endurance events can be physically demanding and involve inherent risks.

You are responsible for deciding whether you are sufficiently fit, healthy, prepared and equipped to participate.

If you have concerns about your health or ability to participate, you should seek appropriate medical advice.

You must not participate where you know that doing so would create a significant risk to yourself or others, including where you are impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs or another substance.

If you become injured, unwell or unable to continue safely, you should stop and notify the event or medical team where possible.

The Race Director or medical team may prevent you from starting or continuing where they reasonably believe it would be unsafe for you or others.

4. Event Risks and Safety

Depending on the event, risks may include uneven or slippery terrain, darkness, roads or traffic, weather, wildlife or livestock, other participants, members of the public, fatigue, dehydration, trips, falls and changing environmental conditions.

You must follow:

  • Event rules and route instructions

  • Mandatory kit requirements

  • Safety briefings

  • Cut-off times where applicable

  • Reasonable instructions from the Race Director, medical team, marshals, venue staff and authorised event personnel

We may carry out equipment checks.

We may prevent you from starting, stop you from continuing or disqualify you where we reasonably believe that you are not appropriately equipped, are acting unsafely or are seriously breaching event rules.

5. Conduct and Respect

Everyone involved in a Momentm Event must behave responsibly and respectfully towards participants, volunteers, staff, support crews, spectators, landowners, venue teams and members of the public.

We have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, abuse, threatening behaviour or inappropriate conduct.

Serious misconduct, cheating, deliberate rule breaches, unsafe behaviour, littering or refusal to follow reasonable safety instructions may result in removal or disqualification without refund.

Support crews and spectators associated with a participant must also follow event and venue rules.

Serious misconduct may result in an individual being refused entry to future Momentm Events.

6. Inclusion, Accessibility and SheRACES

Momentm Events is committed to creating welcoming, inclusive and respectful event experiences.

We aim to remove unnecessary barriers to participation and treat people fairly regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, background or running ability.

We will make reasonable adjustments for disabled participants where required and will consider other accessibility or individual requirements wherever reasonably practicable and safe.

Momentm Events also supports the principles of the SheRACES Race Guidelines.

As part of this commitment:

  • Women's competition will receive equal prominence and recognition.

  • Comparable men's and women's prizes will be equal in value.

  • Free period products will be available at our events.

  • Appropriate toilet provision will be provided.

  • Private changing space will be provided where reasonably practicable.

  • Breastfeeding and other participant needs will be considered when planning event facilities.

  • Pregnancy deferrals are available as set out below.

Participants with a particular accessibility or safety concern can contact us before an event. This can include reasonable requests relating to public-facing results or tracking where practicable.

Our full Inclusion, Accessibility & Respect commitment is available on our website.

7. Pregnancy Deferral

If you become pregnant before an event, you may defer your entry to an eligible future Momentm Event taking place within two years of the original event date.

This applies regardless of our normal transfer deadlines.

There is no additional Momentm Events fee for a pregnancy deferral.

Contact team@momentmevents.uk to arrange this.

8. Participant Cancellations

If you choose not to attend an event, your entry fee is normally non-refundable.

This includes cancellation because of injury, illness, travel problems, personal circumstances or changes to your plans, unless your statutory rights require otherwise.

To provide flexibility, the transfer options in Section 9 are available before the relevant deadlines.

Event entries relating to leisure activities on a specific date or during a specific period are generally excluded from the normal 14-day online cancellation period.

Any separate booking or transaction fee charged and retained by a third-party provider may be subject to that provider's own terms.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.

9. Transfers

Transfer to another Momentm Event

You may request to transfer your entry to another eligible Momentm Event taking place within the same calendar year, provided the request is made at least four weeks before your original event.

Transfers are subject to availability and the eligibility requirements of the replacement event.

If the replacement event costs more, you will need to pay the difference.

Transfer to another participant

You may transfer your place to another participant up to seven days before the event.

The transfer must be completed through the official process specified by Momentm Events or the relevant booking provider.

The replacement participant must meet the event eligibility requirements, provide their own participant and emergency information and accept these Terms & Conditions.

Entries must not be privately transferred or sold without the official participant details being updated.

Pregnancy deferrals are handled separately under Section 7.

10. Event Changes

Outdoor and endurance events sometimes require operational changes.

We may make reasonable changes to routes, timings, checkpoints, start or finish arrangements, distances or other operational details where necessary because of:

  • Participant or public safety

  • Weather or ground conditions

  • Venue or landowner requirements

  • Permissions or access restrictions

  • Emergency service or authority advice

  • Unexpected operational circumstances outside our reasonable control

We will aim to keep the event as close as reasonably possible to what was advertised and communicate significant changes where practical.

Minor, operational or safety-related changes will not normally entitle participants to a refund.

11. Cancellation, Postponement or Material Change by Momentm Events

We may cancel, postpone or materially change an event where it cannot reasonably or safely take place as advertised.

This may include circumstances such as severe weather, loss of venue or land access, restrictions or instructions from authorities or emergency services, significant safety concerns or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If Momentm Events:

  • Cancels an event;

  • Postpones an event to another date; or

  • Makes a material change to its date, location or overall format;

affected participants will be offered the choice of:

  • Transferring to the rearranged event;

  • Transferring to another eligible Momentm Event; or

  • Receiving a refund of the event entry fee paid to Momentm Events.

Participants do not have to accept a transfer to another event.

Any separate third-party booking or transaction fees may be subject to the relevant provider's terms.

We cannot normally reimburse travel, accommodation, equipment or other costs associated with attending an event unless required by law.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.

12. Events Stopped or Shortened After Starting

Participant and public safety takes priority.

We may pause, shorten, alter or stop an event after it has started where we reasonably believe this is necessary for safety or because circumstances outside our reasonable control mean the event cannot safely continue as planned.

Any refund, credit or other remedy will depend on the circumstances, the services already provided and your statutory rights.

13. Timing, Tracking and Results

Events may use manual or electronic timing, lap counting, live results, mobile tracking or GPS systems.

We will take reasonable steps to provide accurate information, but technology can occasionally fail or produce errors.

We may investigate and correct results where appropriate.

Participants must follow the published event rules to qualify for results, rankings or prizes.

Where comparable men's and women's prizes are provided, awards will be of equal value.

14. Photography and Filming

Photography, filming and other media may take place at Momentm Events.

Images and footage may be used to document and promote Momentm Events through our website, social media, advertising and other communications where permitted by law.

If you have a particular concern about being photographed or filmed, please contact us before the event or speak to the event team.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information.

15. Personal Information

We process participant information to administer and safely operate our events.

Information may be provided through third-party registration systems and, where reasonably necessary, shared with organisations involved in delivering an event, including timing or tracking providers, medical teams, venues and operational partners.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used and protected.

16. Personal Belongings

You remain responsible for your own clothing, equipment and belongings.

Where bag drops, runner areas or similar facilities are provided, we will take reasonable care but cannot guarantee the security of individual belongings.

We are not responsible for loss or damage that we did not cause through our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

17. Environment and Event Locations

Our approach is simple:

Leave it better than we found it.

Participants, support crews and spectators must respect event locations, wildlife, local communities and other users.

You must not litter or deliberately damage the course, venue or surrounding environment.

Please use waste and recycling facilities provided and follow any venue or landowner requirements.

Our Environmental Commitment is available on our website.

18. Our Responsibility

Momentm Events will take reasonable care in organising and delivering our events.

We are not responsible for injury, loss or damage resulting solely from:

  • The inherent risks of participating in the event

  • Your failure to follow event rules or reasonable safety instructions

  • Your own actions or negligence

  • The actions of third parties outside our reasonable control

  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts our responsibility where doing so would be unlawful.

In particular, nothing excludes or limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Your statutory consumer rights

  • Any other liability which cannot legally be excluded

19. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve it.

team@momentmevents.uk

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions for future event entries.

The version in place when you entered an event will normally continue to apply to that entry.

We will not retrospectively make a material change that unfairly disadvantages an existing participant.

21. Governing Law

For events taking place in Scotland, these terms are governed by Scots law.

For events taking place elsewhere in the United Kingdom, the applicable law and mandatory consumer protections for that event and participant will continue to apply.

Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from relying on mandatory legal protections or using courts available to them under applicable law.
